Interlocking Ring Set – Engagement & Wedding Ring

Bespoke jewellery design  provides the perfect way to create a unique set of interlocking rings. Furthermore, advances in modern jewellery techniques make it possible to create perfectly fitted shapes. More specifically, CAD design allows 3 Dimensional models to be created on computer before taking physical form. Finally, clients benefit from detailed images showing how a finished design will look.

Our brief : to create a matching interlocking engagement ring and wedding ring set

With a clear brief, our client requested a combination of specific diamond shapes and setting styles, merged into one interlocking pair of rings. The CAD image below shows both rings fitted together. A heart-shaped and round brilliant-cut diamond rest within part-bezel settings. In addition, three graduated sizes of brilliant-cut diamonds lie within flush settings in the wedding ring. Similar designs by jewellers such as Georg Jensen create ‘Fusion style ring designs‘ crafted from interlocking, contoured rings. Popularity continues to grow for interlocking bands.

Creating the a wire-frame interlocking ring sketch

To begin with, a sketch formed the basic design including gemstones added in proportion to the rings. Once rendered, the design evolves into an accurate representation of the final design.

18ct Gold Interlocking Diamond Rings

We crafted both rings in 18ct White Gold. The engagement ring held a total of 0.55cts of diamonds including a beautifully cut heart shaped brilliant cut diamond. The wedding ring was set with an additional 0.20cts of round diamonds held within a bezel styled setting where the setting follows all or part of the diamond’s outer edge.  All diamonds used achieved a diamond grade of G colour and SI1 clarity.

Other types of Interlocking Rings

One of the other styles of Interlocking rings has to be the Interlocking Russian wedding rings; a set of connected rings in one or in a combination of precious metal colours. Each ring connects and overlaps as part of the ring style.

The following image shows a set of 3 Russian wedding rings, commissioned especially as a diamond pendant design, worn on an 18-inch curb chain. Available online.
