On August 17th the Lucara Diamond Corporation released details of the recovery of a number of exceptional diamonds from its Karowe Mine located in Botswana. The photograph followed news of the exceptional diamond.

The recent news included details of the discovery and recovery of a prodigious Type IIa, 336 carat diamond. In addition to this recovery, a further three exceptional diamonds were recovered over the last few weeks – a 184 carat stone, a 94 carat and a 86 carat stone. A 12 carat pale pink diamond was also discovered, which has yet to receive a confirmation on colour.

In the last few years, Lucara has recovered 216 diamonds in total, each stone selling for more than $250,000.

William Lamb, President and Chief Executive Officer made the following statement.

“The ongoing recovery of large exceptional diamonds from the Karowe Mine continues to support the resource estimates. This resource has consistently produced significant value for the Company and its shareholders and the ongoing recovery of high value stones sets Lucara apart from most other diamond producers.”
