Amazing Coloured Diamond Rings<\/h2>\n

One of the beautiful things about diamonds is, they exist naturally in a wide variety of colours. Literally most colours of the rainbow. Natural coloured diamonds are a completely separate entity to white diamonds, and are highly priced\u00a0 with rarity and beauty determining their high value. We have already seen in our earlier post on pink diamonds, that natural fancy coloured diamonds are described not only by their colour, but by the intensity, with faint, very light, light, fancy light, fancy, fancy intense, fancy vivid, fancy dark and fancy deep being the grades used.<\/p>\n

Clarity does not tend to be considered with such importance as with white diamonds. It is, however, important that there are no obvious marks or inclusions in the diamond, and no loss to the life of the stone, caused by obvious flaws. The shape itself will often be chosen to best enhance the intensity of colour in the diamond. With certain colours, a particular shape chosen can actually cause the colour to be less visible in the polished diamond, so this is one aspect which receives very careful consideration before cutting. Most of the coloured diamonds in the following ring examples can be customised within our already extensive engagement rings collection.\"Red<\/p>\n

Red Diamond Engagement Rings<\/h2>\n

Red diamonds are the rarest of all. Diamonds are rarely graded red, and there are probably very few that have actually received GIA certification with this colour. Created by a distortion in the lattice, red light is reflected by the stone and is perceived. It is far more likely that modifiers will be present and so a brownish red, purplish red, pinkish red etc will be recorded. The best alternative for a red diamond would have to be either Ruby or Red Garnet, both beautiful alternatives.\"Orange<\/p>\n

Engagement Rings with Orange Diamonds<\/h2>\n

Orange diamonds are one of the rarest of the natural coloured diamonds, and perhaps the most expensive. Again, modifiers are normally present, such as brown. A true Orange coloured diamond is unusual with many variations being influenced by red and yellow elements of the colour combination. A range of beautiful shades exist from a rich Tangerine colour of diamond, to shades displaying more of a yellow tone. As with yellow diamonds, orange works remarkably well with olive skin tones, and contrasts beautifully with white diamonds.\"Yellow<\/p>\n

Yellow Diamond Rings<\/h2>\n

Yellow diamonds have recently been branded by Tiffany & Co. as Sunshine diamonds, and have been enormously popular, especially when incorporated in styles with micro-pav\u00e9<\/a> surrounding diamonds of very white colour grades. The brightness and radiance of the yellow diamond, especially seen in the vivid Canary Yellow Diamonds. Without any hints of other colours (eg. brown) yellow diamonds are prized for their rarity caused by Nitrogen being present in the crystal structure<\/p>\n

Green Diamond Rings<\/h2>\n

A range of variations can exist amongst green diamonds, influenced by a more yellow, or brownish tinge to the stone. A Citrus lime colour or a deep intense Olive colour might be your preference. Olive forms a distinctly different group to green diamonds, owing their unique colour with grey, green, brown and yellow modifiers, all caused by the presence of Hydrogen in the crystal structure of the stone.<\/p>\n

Blue Diamond Rings<\/h2>\n

Blue diamonds, are a beautiful choice which can span a broad range of shades, from grey-blue, to greenish-blue. Popular choices are the cool colour of Ice Blue, rich Sky Blue’s and the greener tinged Ocean blue.\u00a0 The colouration, is on account of the presence of Boron atoms. In higher concentrations, the result is a more intense colour. Traces of green produce a more Aquamarine colour to the stones. Many of the World’s blue diamonds are sourced from South Africa, with the Cullinan and Premier mines being the primary sources for natural blue diamonds.<\/p>\n

\"Indigo<\/h3>\n

Indigo Diamond Rings<\/h2>\n

The deeper richer blue colouration of Indigo is a highly prized choice. The intense, deep Indigo colouration is again a rare and beautiful option, with many such deeply coloured diamonds being sourced in Central Africa, Borneo and Southern America. Set within diamond rings with white stones for effect, the contrast can be breathtaking. A less expensive alternative for such an effect can be achieved with a rich blue Sapphire.<\/p>\n

\"Violet<\/h3>\n

Violet Diamond Rings<\/h2>\n

Violet is an exceptionally rare shade of natural fancy coloured diamond. Many of the diamonds that are classified as Violet are small in size, and number. Violet coloured diamonds are a part of the Purple category of fancy coloured diamonds. Grey and blue are both associated with Violet coloured diamonds, for example we sometimes see greyish violet stones, or violet with a bluish tint. Both Russia and Australia are producers of Violet diamonds, with the colouration largely being on account of the presence of Hydrogen.<\/p>\n
