If the green colour makes up more than 15% of the overall colour of the Sapphire, the term blue-green can be used. Alternatively, we would refer to the Sapphire as a ‘Peacock’ Sapphire for this reason.

Blue-green Sapphires come from many sources, including India, Sri Lanka and Montana, USA. Their value depends on different factors, including the intensity of colour. Some examples display muted tones of blue and green with less vibrance.

Rings vary enormously in price, influenced by factors including the gemstone size and quality. Conversely, more valuable stones offer vivid shades of eye-catching blue and green. At the same time, natural colour without any heat treatment helps to add value to the Sapphire.

Peacock Sapphire Rings

Over the years, we have created different examples of Peacock Sapphire rings. Interestingly, most include the addition of diamonds. White diamonds graded F colour or above add contrast and help the colour of a Sapphire stand out within the ring design. Peacock Sapphire engagement rings make a wonderful choice owing to their unusual colouration and durability compared to other gemstone types.

Peacock sapphire engagement ring set with an octagonal blue-green Sapphire between diamonds.

Teal Blue Sapphire Rings

Teal blue Sapphires make an attractive choice for an engagement ring. Unlike Peacock Sapphires, Teal Sapphires exhibit one colour with a distinctive Teal colouration. Conversely, Peacock Sapphires display two colours—blue and green.

Teal Sapphire rings vary enormously in price depending on the size and quality of the Sapphire.
