How are lab-grown blue diamonds created?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Growing real diamonds makes blue lab-grown diamonds in a laboratory using HPHT or CVD technology. A small amount of boron is added during growth, giving the diamond its natural blue colour. The finished stone has the same structure, brilliance, and durability as a mined blue diamond, but with greater consistency and a lower environmental impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Varieties and shades of blue lab-grown diamonds <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Based on a selection of recent jewellery commissions, we have sourced a range of blue diamond shades, from light to deep blue. But remember, we typically source each diamond individually due to subtle colour variations from one commission to another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a result, very few engagement ring commissions look alike, owing to the variety of hues. The reason lies in the treatment process and the introduction of Boron during manufacturing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just like natural blue diamonds, lab-grown blue diamonds exhibit a blue colour due to the presence of Boron in the diamond. The concentration of Boron and the presence of other chemicals, such as nitrogen, often cause variations in the diamond’s hue and colour intensity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Remember, there are far fewer blue lab-grown diamonds than white diamonds. For this reason, we recommend remaining open to the selection of available diamonds. We regularly source fancy-shaped blue diamonds in a selection of cuts\u2014for example, Round, Princess, Emerald, and cushion-cut diamonds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many of our lab-grown diamond engagement rings feature centrepiece diamonds. Because of lower prices than natural diamonds, many buyers opt for carat weights between 0.70 and 1.50 for their engagement rings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
