It\u2019s particularly important when you consider many ring designs can\u2019t be resized\u2014for example, full eternity bands where the diamonds are set around the ring. Ideally, we like to check finger sizes in person in our showroom, but not everyone can visit us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result, for many of our online clients, we had to create a system to find the correct finger size\u2014which can be done in the comfort of your home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, how does it work?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How we ensure the correct ring fit<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ve created the \u201cPerfect Size Service\u201d which we\u2019ve also added to the Serendipity Diamonds website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First, we send out a Multisizer tool. It\u2019s a plastic strap with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.serendipitydiamonds.com\/uk\/education\/ring-size-information\">UK ring sizes<\/a> and resembles a cable tie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, this multisizer, on its own, is a good tool to estimate finger size, but it can be tricky to get a precise reading because the strap moves around when you slide it on and off the finger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The strap goes around the finger&#8217;s base to give you an idea of the finger size. Don\u2019t slide it over the knuckle because the reading will change. Instead, attach it around the fleshy part of the finger where you normally wear a ring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Approximating size as the first step<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>With the Multisizer, you can get an approximate size.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And next, we post out ring samples in the closest sizes. Each sample ring is a simple aluminium band precision engineered in half-finger sizes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, to clarify, if the Multisizer gives you a size S as your finger size, we\u2019ll send out R1\/2, S and S1\/2 ring sizes to try.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This service has three widths &#8211; 2.5mm (perfect for engagement rings), 5mm and 7mm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So you try these after you\u2019ve used the Multisizer to be confident you\u2019ve established the correct finger size.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But how do you ensure the ring fits correctly?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How should the fit of a ring feel?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Well, I advise choosing a size that goes onto the finger and sits without moving around or spinning on the finger. You want the ring to be snug, difficult to remove, and only removable by stretching the hand to take the ring off.
