We feature many of the shaped wedding ring commissions on our blog. These are typically recent commissions, created to fit around an engagement ring setting. We have already discussed in great depth the many possible styles. We have also noted that the engagement ring itself dictates the basic styling for the shaped wedding band. The commission above is just one possibility for a shaped design to accommodate our graduated two stone diamond ring, R2D003 which is also shown in the image below.<\/p>\n

Plain or Diamond Set<\/strong><\/p>\n

A plain band will refer to the shaped wedding ring in plain metal. The band can also be set with diamonds. These are selected in a small enough m\u00eal\u00e9e size, to fit both the width and depth of the wedding ring. The amount of diamonds is personal choice. We usually suggest covering the upper quarter or half of the band, leaving the unseen part of the ring below, plain. This also allows some scope for size adjustment in the future.<\/p>\n

Complimenting Contours<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Two-stone-engagement-ring-on-finger\"A key consideration for a shaped wedding ring is complimentary styling. There is no use creating a ring that just fits. It is so important to balance the design as the band flows around the setting. We can create a shaped wedding ring strictly following the lines of the engagement ring, or build the sweep to be much gentler, with a more forgiving fit – rather than interlocking perfectly. This is always personal choice. Some clients demand a jigsaw like fit, whilst others prefer a more subtle shape. We have even fused both engagement ring and wedding ring where a client requested both rings never move!<\/p>\n
