Game of Thrones Wedding Rings<\/h2>\n

As season 5 Game of Thrones unfolds on our televisions, we are sharing here one of our recent commissions. A pair of engraved wedding rings inspired by the popular fantasy series, “Game of Thrones,” back for another series.<\/p>\n

The series\u00a0is an adaptation of\u00a0A Song of Ice and Fire<\/i><\/strong>,\u00a0George R. R. Martin’s series of fantasy novels, the first of which is titled\u00a0A Game of Thrones<\/i><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

If you have not yet seen this series, you are truly missing out. Fans will back me up here. (Do this at the end of the post please!)<\/span><\/p>\n

Adding a line from Game of Thrones to your wedding rings<\/h2>\n

One of the most memorable lines from the series\u00a0derives from the relationship between\u00a0Daenerys Targaryen<\/a>\u00a0(played by\u00a0Emilia Clarke) and\u00a0Khal Drogo<\/a> (played by\u00a0Jason Momoa), the leader of the nomadic Dothraki.<\/span><\/p>\n

The wording appears beautifully simple. The text could almost be from a page of the book. The rings were purposefully styled in this way.<\/p>\n

Remember – you can engrave your Game of Thrones wedding rings in any font!<\/h2>\n

Before we engraved each ring, we selected plain\u00a0D shaped wedding rings,\u00a0mirror polished. The lack of additional detail added a very simple, uncluttered feel. The typeface chosen was a rustic, distressed typewriter font. \u00a0There are so many wonderful sources of inspiration and fonts. Each concept provides a truly unique way\u00a0to customise a pair of wedding rings.<\/p>\n

We know\u00a0that the best engravings are simple engravings. Our advice would be to spend a little time writing down ideas. Once you have the words, consider the font. Choose a clear typeface. A letter style that emphasises the inscription. \u00a0We work with a diverse selection of fonts and we find that everyone has a favourite. (Please note: I confess to being a true font-nerd at times!)<\/p>\n

I photographed both of the rings above, once the rings had been finally polished. To note the width of each ring, they measure 8mm. across. The wording has been kept purposefully small. This avoided overpowering the rings. \u00a0Owing to the variable size of the text, smaller ring widths can be engraved across many of the regular ring styles. You need only to contact us for advice on alternative designs.<\/p>\n
