Secret Diamond Rings – Hidden Diamond Engagement Rings

Secret diamond ring - Rose gold engagement ring set with a hidden diamond within a personalised engraving

Secret diamond engagement rings feature a hidden diamond set unseen inside the band whilst the ring is on the finger.

We typically flush-set hidden diamonds and gemstones, discreetly sunk into the metal of the ring. Most rings made in this way go through our bespoke jewellery design service.

Unlike hidden halo engagement rings, hidden diamond engagement rings feature a single diamond.

Why do people ask for hidden diamonds?

Hidden, or secret diamonds add a unique feature to an engagement ring or wedding ring band. The secret sparkle often features alongside a precision laser inscription to add a greater sense or personalisation. In fact, the diamond can feature as part of the engraving as you see in our engagement ring examples here.

Are secret diamond rings more expensive?

The cost of a secret diamond ring depends on how it is made. We typically charge more for bespoke ring designs with a hidden diamond. However, some of our engagement rings have a sturdy enough band to accommodate a flush-set diamond. For this reason, some of our regular designs are suitable for modification with a flush-set diamond or gemstone.

Secret diamond rings include a diamond or gemstone set into the inside of the band

How big are hidden diamonds?

The diamonds we set into secret diamond engagement rings usually measure 1mm – 1.3mm as a guide. We use diamonds less shallow than the band of a ring, and smaller than the width of the band. In addition to regular diamonds, we can also use our Canadamark melee diamonds for this purpose, available in sizes as small as just one millimetre.

Secret gemstone engagement rings.

Over the years, we have set secret gemstones into engagement rings and wedding rings as an alternative to diamonds. However, as a word of caution, we recommend opting for a gemstone higher on the Mohs scale, ideally a Sapphire or Ruby, for example. Other gems, such as Peridot, are less durable due to their lower hardness on this scale.
