Tengwar and the Elvish Typeface

What is Tengwar?

Tengwar is a script created by J. R. R. Tolkien.

“Within the fictional context of Tolkien’s legendarium, the tengwar were invented by the Elf Fëanor, and used first to write the Elven tongues Quenya and Telerin.”

A ring to show our love

Whether you’re a fan of J.R.R. Tolkien’s epic stories or not, Elvish engraved wedding rings make a popular choice.

We craft all wedding rings individually to order. Some clients order rings individually or together. Other clients order a pair of matching Elvish wedding bands.

Choose your ring with or without a flush set diamond.

Adding a unique engraving to your ring

Many couples add a unique element to their wedding rings in the form of a custom laser engraving.

Engraving costs very little but adds wonderful detail.

Consider more choices within our classic plain wedding ring designs. We custom engrave each design with a choice of options.

Our website adds the small engraving cost to your wedding ring, and we will contact you for the details after you place the order.

Some clients choose wedding rings for the style and look of the detail.

We don’t just sell wedding rings to book and film fans.

You don’t have to be a Hobbit fan to wear an Elvish engraved wedding ring. The style of writing fascinates many people.

With similar styling to Hebrew and some cursive writing forms, Elvish or Tengwar offers a beautiful script, ideal for engraving onto wedding rings.

As part of our work, we translate your wording perfectly into Elvish.

Secret engraved wedding rings

If you prefer the look of a plain wedding ring, we engrave the Elvish text inside the ring. This leaves the outer surface plain with a matte or polished finish.

We apply laser engravings in any typeface on the surface of any precious metal.

Both Platinum and 18ct Gold provide greater durability compared to 9ct Gold. We highly recommend Platinum or 18ct White, Yellow or Rose Gold for engravings to the outer surface of rings.

Buying an engraved men’s wedding band

We create the most engraved men’s wedding bands in wider ring widths. By comparison, many brides order 3mm or 4mm wide rings. Men typically choose 5mm, 6mm and 7mm wide bands.
