Photography for Jewellery Insurance

How can I get my jewellery photographed for insurance?

Over the last 12 months we have introduced a brand new service at Serendipity Diamonds, for capturing jewellery with high resolution photography. This serves a variety of purposes. Reasons for photographing your jewellery might include the following reasons.

Photographs for Insurance

High resolution photographs of an item of jewellery will provide evidence for the existence of that piece. In the event of theft, photographs can be submitted to the insurer and to the police to help identify personal items of jewellery. Photographs support any claim to recovered items.

Photography for replacement

When an item of jewellery is lost, it can be very difficult to replicate. We recently undertook such a commission. Our biggest problem was having no visual record of the original jewellery items. Our client wanted to replicate lost items, but without a clear photograph, it can be very difficult to re-create a design. A good photograph gives the jewellery essential visual details to recreate a design.

Diamond photography

Besides items of jewellery, our services extend to wristwatches, loose diamonds and gemstones. Through our day to day work on the diamond concierge loose diamond service we provide additional support with diamond and gemstone photography to both retail and to the public.

Photographing high value items

High value items can be brought to us in person. We appreciate that under the terms of insurance, it might not be possible to send items. In certain circumstances we can include inward cover for insuring items and during the time that they are within our care, until they arrive back with clients. Anyone visiting to bring items of jewellery to photograph, we recommend booking an appointment in advance.

Photography for the jewellery industry

This service is available to members of the jewellery industry and to private clients looking for high quality, high resolution photography. We colour balance all photographs to ensure that gemstones are correctly represented in photographs and our turnaround time is 24-48 hours for photography commissions.

A guide to the cost of jewellery photography

Prices are crafted to a client’s individual requirements, but prices start at £50.00 upwards for single photographs of jewellery items.
