The name 'Afton' refers to a hamlet on the West side of the Isle of Wight. The origin of the name is thought to derive from Old English for Afternoon or Evening, owing to the westerly location as the sun sets across the Isle of Wight. Afton is also a popular wedding venue chosen by couples on the island, located at East Afton Farmhouse.
