What is the Fairtrade Gold Stamp? Buying Ethical Gold Jewellery

Fairtrade Gold Stamp

What is the Fairtrade Gold Stamp?

The Fairtrade Gold stamp is a physical stamp, struck into an item of jewellery. The stamp features the Fairtrade logo. Appearing alongside the hallmark, this stamp marks an item of jewellery to authenticate the Fairtrade Gold credentials of the item. Our main image shows the Fairtrade Gold stamp within a Fairtrade 18ct Yellow Gold men’s wedding ring

The importance of the Fairtrade Gold stamp

If you’re buying ethical jewellery, you will almost certainly understand the importance of Fairtrade Gold. Since our introduction of this 100% ethical option for jewellery back in 2014 we have never looked back. Many of our clients insist on Fairtrade Gold or recycled Platinum and Palladium for their jewellery. This provides reassurance to clients that we purchase materials responsibly.

Alternative ways that the Fairtrade stamp can be applied

The Fairtrade Gold mark can also be applied by laser to an item of jewellery. Laser hallmarking is less invasive—especially for more delicate items of jewellery. For example, fine earrings. Laser hallmarking can appear lighter with less depth than a stamped hallmark but remains a favoured technique for hallmarking finer items of jewellery.
