Blue Zircon & Diamond Cluster Ring – Dazzling Bespoke Jewellery Designs

Bespoke Blue Zircon and Diamond Cluster Ring

Dazzling with Blue Zircon and Diamonds

Every week, we are fortunate enough to work with exciting gemstone combinations. One of our retired local clients from the Isle of Wight visited us recently for help in creating a dream ring. She specifically asked for an exceptional Blue Zircon to be set at the heart of a very special ring design. In addition, the ring would include a dazzling show of diamonds surrounding the Blue Zircon. Finally, diamond shoulders would complete the ring, set into 18ct Yellow Gold.

What is Blue Zircon?

Jewellery connoisseurs prize Zircon, a gemstone seldom requested by our clients. This incredible gemstone sparkles with incredible refraction—greater than Sapphire. In addition, Zircon provides exceptional fire, with excellent dispersion. Another benefit of Zirconium Silicate includes incredible depth of colour. Zircon exists in addition to a wide range of alternative colours. Originating in areas including Burma and Cambodia, this prized gemstone rarely appears in the jeweller’s window. Furthermore, we only tend to work with this type of gemstone for bespoke jewellery designs.

Is Zircon suitable for everyday wear?

Owing to its hardness, between 7 and 7.5 on the Mohs Scale, Zircon suits occasional wear. Less durable than diamond, Ziron damages more easily through impact and heavy wear than other gemstones. Here, additional protection comes from a halo of surrounding diamonds around the stone.

Creating the bespoke ring design

Following our initial brief, our client received a quote for the ring design. It was essential to source a suitable Zircon in the first instance. From there, we created the quote before moving on to the subsequent step—CAD designing the ring itself.

Without access to emails, every part of our work involved consultation in person with our client. This included viewing the Zircon in the first instance to discussing the designs. Working with clients locally and overseas, our methods are flexible depending on circumstances.
