The Many Styles of Court Wedding Rings

Court wedding ring styles

A Guide to the Many Styles of Court Wedding Rings.

Aside from varying depths, weights and thicknesses of wedding ring (often called light, medium and heavy weight) many wedding ring profiles have more than one variation. Our example today concentrates on court wedding rings.

What is a Court Profile Wedding Ring?

The court profile is a comfortable, traditional style of wedding ring, featuring a gently curving outer surface and a comfort fit inner surface with a very slight curve. This makes the court profile very popular and most importantly very comfortable. Our brief guide today sets out some of the variations of the court shaped wedding ring. Each of the following designs typically come in light, medium and heavy versions. For simplicity we have focused on the most popular medium weight versions of each design.

Traditional Court Wedding Ring

More information

The traditional court wedding ring is one of the most popular styles. As noted above, the fit is comfortable, with a curve to the outer surface. This is less pronounced than a D shaped wedding ring, but provides a softer look than the bolder look of the totally flat profile wedding rings. Edges are usually slightly sharper than the slight court (below.)

Slight Court Wedding Ring

More information

The Slight Court wedding ring features an outer surface that is not completely flat, but the curve is much more gentle than the traditional court. The surface is flatter, the edges appear more rounded, an excellent and softer alternative to the flat profile of wedding ring. You will sometimes see names such as rounded-flat profile for this same style of wedding ring.

Court Wedding Ring – Polished Edge

Designs with a flat side wall can be handy when the engagement ring band features this. A small and subtle detail like this can mean a perfect match, as opposed to a close match. The depth of the ring rivals this as an equally important consideration when matching the wedding ring to the engagement ring.

Flat Court Wedding Ring

Flat court wedding rings such as RWD004 feature a flat outer face and a rolled comfort fit inner surface. We have covered almost all you need to know on flat court wedding rings within one of our earlier posts.
