How to create a unique three stone diamond ring
By tradition, the three stone diamond ring (otherwise known as a Trilogy ring) features as a fairly standard ring design. Most three stone diamond rings include a larger central diamond, surrounded on each side by smaller diamonds. A variety of designs exist—varying diamond shapes and sizes to create a variety of combinations. Some feature diamond set shoulders, for additional sparkle.
Opt for bespoke design if you want a truly unique diamond ring
If you’re looking for a truly unique 3 stone diamond ring, bespoke design is your best bet. Using CAD design technology, the traditional 3 stone ring can be rejuvenated and given a new lease of life with extraordinary effect. Swirls, twirls and sweeping curls add movement and flair with the impact of sparkle from 3 beautifully faceted round brilliant cut diamonds.
Sketch it on a napkin
If you have an idea in mind, send a photograph or link. Alternatively just crudely sketch it on a napkin and let our designers do the rest. We can provide sketches and detailed CAD designs to turn your concept diamond ring into a reality.

Creating the CAD 3 Stone Ring Design
Once we have a good idea of the ring style, we can create a realistic CAD design for you to view. Although a little more ‘blocky’ than the final ring, this provides a great impression along with an idea of the proportions of the ring and gemstones used.
Taking the first step towards designing your bespoke 3 stone ring
For any bespoke jewellery commission, we always start with a conversation—by phone or through email. We discuss many details including your budget, style preferences and choice of precious metal. From here, we construct a brief to work from. From this point, we start the design process, once costs are agreed.
How long does a bespoke 3 stone ring take to create?
To give you a better idea of timescale, a typical 3 stone ring will take around 1 week for the discussion, information and design to be established. The ensuing stages take a total of 4-5 weeks. We suggest you allow 5-6 weeks for all work to be completed. For anyone considering a bespoke engagement ring, please leave at least 2 months for your engagement ring to be made. Ideally longer.
