Pre-Loved Ladies Vintage Signet Ring
Some pre-loved jewellery stands out simply because it is difficult to categorise, and this unusual gold ring is a perfect example.
At its centre sits a broad, highly polished gold face reminiscent of the strong proportions associated with traditional signet and sovereign rings. Rather than surrounding the centre with a heavy solid mount, however, the design incorporates intricate open scrollwork, giving the ring a lighter and considerably more decorative character.
The detailing continues onto the shoulders, where a repeating chevron pattern provides additional texture before gradually tapering into a smooth 2.5mm band beneath the finger.
At approximately 16mm wide across the head, the ring makes a noticeable statement despite weighing just 1.7 grams. Ring features a partial 10K stamp within the band of the ring.
In finger size L½, we particularly like this piece worn as a pinky ring. The combination of its broad polished face and ornate gold surround gives it the presence of a much heavier ring while retaining comfortable, refined proportions.
The blank polished centre is an important part of the design, allowing the intricate scrollwork surrounding it to provide the decoration rather than relying upon gemstones or engraving.
