UK Birthstones Guide by Month

What is a birthstone? A birthstone is a specific precious or semi-precious gemstone tied to a specific month. Each gemstone has differing meanings, making their application in jewellery perfect for birthday gifts. March Birthstone - Aquamarine

August's Birthstone - Peridot

The birthstone for August is Peridot. This gemstone quality mineral derives from Olivine which suggests the distinctive moss-like colour of the gem. Variations in colour range from yellow to brownish-green. Peridot and its mineral Olivine are strongly associated with volcanic sources. The colour of Olivine results from Iron within the crystal.
