Jewellery Remodelling at Serendipity Diamonds

As part of our work, we routinely remodel items of jewellery, transforming existing items into brand new designs. Some of our service re-use existing Gold or Platinum in the new item, or offset the cost of the new item with the old Gold or Platinum. A few examples of our work include the following remodelling services. Some of our work involves what some would describe as "melt and make" services where we reuse existing metal and melt it to make new jewellery designs.

  • Remounting existing gemstones and diamonds from old jewellery designs
  • Modernising old jewellery into newer contemporary designs
  • Unsetting existing diamonds to add into one of our existing or bespoke designs
  • Transforming a ring setting into a pendant with the addition of a loop and chain
  • Melting down old wedding rings with sentimental value to create new jewellery designs
  • Mixing different types of Gold to use in a new design
  • Remaking a worn, damaged or lost ring in the original jewellery design

As part of our service, we recommend clients book an appointment in our mezzanine to discuss any complex remodelling work. We provide all the guidance needed on a no-obligation basis and offer a full design service as part of our work.

Remounting a diamond into a new bespoke ring design

Many of our clients approach us to create either new versions of an existing ring, or to re-design an item of jewellery to house their existing diamond. Regardless of the diamond or gemstone size, we can create a brand new design. Our work often involves the creation of a more elaborate style or a simplified style with a refined build quality around the stone.

For this ring remodelling commission, we remounted an existing 4-carat natural diamond to provide a design to justify the beauty of the diamond. The new ring features a swirling 6 claw setting in Platinum with talon claws to showcase the original diamond. Existing gemstones from the original ring were discounted owing to wear and damage received over time.
